Vik is a graduate of Imperial College London Medical School, where he embarked on his medical career. He received training in London and Oxford, working closely with the late Queen's cataract surgeon, and he provided care to members of the Saudi Royal Family during his medical practice.

Starting at just 25, Vik began lecturing medical and dental students in anatomy at Kings' College London and was recognised as a Council Member at the Royal Society of Medicine. He conducted significant research as a Fellow at Bart's and London and Moorfields Eye Hospital, often chairing conferences and delivering lectures.
